Help your child
The children will spend many, many hours training hard and swimming competitions. Their work & achievements should be heralded, and your support and encouragement for them is very important.
Statistics show that children achieve more when their parents are involved.
The first way to show respect to their efforts, is to help them to always be on time for trainings sessions and competitions.
Watching the children at competitions and sometimes during practice training sessions is a great encouragement. You will certainly enjoy it and be amazed at just how well the children do swim
Help your Child's Team
The Carib Swim Team Association is run by all volunteers.
Everyone has their own work and home commitments, but as the old saying goes;-
“many hands make light work” .
To make a competition happen YOUR CHILDREN NEED YOU, PARENTS & HELPERS
"the board" parents - (organization, administration, fee collection to pay the coaches and bills)
"food" parents - (preparation or serving or selling)
"building" parents - (preparing chairs, parasols for the timers, tents for food
"transporting" parents - (transporting material to the competition place, picking up
other swim-teams from airport or ship
"official" parents - ( Timers x 10, Stroke Judge, Turn Judge, Starter, Runners, Results Officials,)
"computer" parents - (running the computer scoring program during Swim Meets)
"medal" parents - (organizing medals, trophies, time certificates etc
"sponsoring" parents - (finding sponsors, printing copies, giving T-shirts)
"shouting" parents - (to encourage new or slower swimmers to give their best)
"creative" parents - (taking pictures, writing articles, giving new ideas to the board)
"Tidy-up" parents - (putting tents etc. away and making sure the area is clean and tidy afterwards)
We also need helpers for Fund-Raising and at Fund Raising events and for organizing sponsorships.
PLEASE be aware, that the Carib Swim Team Association is nobody else but YOU: swimmers and parents
Let the board-parents know, which are your strengths and preferences to give a hand, from time to time.
